I am so excited to finally be able to sit down and begin blogging about all things POSH PEONY. It has indeed been a busy last couple months rebranding and transitioning my business name. I can honestly say that I am extremely happy with how everything has turned out and our website is finally complete.
Many people have asked me, “What made you change your name?” It is a actually a long story. Six years ago, I started Unforgettable Events on a whim not really thinking about the future. I just lived in the moment and thought the name was clever at the time. I did not do the many things (that I know now) to protect my name, identity, and marketing. About a year ago, I had what you might call a “Business Identity Crisis”. I was getting calls for rentals, I was perceived as a wedding planner, there were about another 10 Unforgettable Events in the State of California alone, etc etc. I knew it was time for a change and I talked about this topic with many of my closest professional friends. All of them said “DO IT!”. I was of course a bit hesitant and didn’t really know where to even begin. I knew I wanted my business to reflect my focus (flowers/linens/design) and I knew I wanted it to be original. Through trial and error, I created POSH PEONY which in my opinion is a combination of Swank and Elegance that I like to embed in each event I design.
It had taken me six years to market my name and for me to just change was quite frightening. Not just because of change but also the idea of starting over and having to do EVERYTHING over was a bit intimidating. After months of research, consulting, and hours of designing work, I finally launched POSH PEONY in 2012! It was a great change and a very positive change personally. I am extremely happy with all the work I have put into it. The year has only begun and great things are already happening. 2012 is going to be a great year!
