The Mission Inn hosted Posh Peony’s intimate floral design workshop that was held on May 6, 2019. A lovely group of floral enthusiasts came out to fine tune their design skills. Workshops are a great way to meet other people who have a similar passion.
The day began with light hors d’oeuvres because what’s a meet up without food?! After everyone settled in, there were brief presentations on business systems like email marketing. As usual, the importance of email marketing cannot be stressed enough for those working in floral design.
Floral Design Workshop
All of the florists were like kids in a candy store, ready to build one of a kind floral creations. Eat, sleep, create, repeat we always say! These creatives got down to business, starting with a white, cream bouquet design. There were plenty of flowers to choose from, including garden roses and spray roses. After bouquet creation, everyone was able to take a headshot with their flowers!
Next, the fun continued as the group learned how to design a tall centerpiece. Cristina demonstrated the proper way to handle the floral foam for a sturdy structure. This lesson was followed by a team learning opportunity to design and build a wedding arch.
The day was full of smiles, budding friendships and lots of gorgeous photos. Ultimately, floral design is about learning, growing, and being creative. Would you like to learn more about our design workshops?
